Roma Sandoval is a Mexican and Native American painter born in San Antonio, Texas. With a bachelors of fine arts in painting from Rhode Island School of Design, she specializes in portraiture with a sharp edged twist. Primarily working in oil paints, she derives much inspiration from the renaissance period, utilizing the chiaroscuro technique as well as working in dramatic, high contrast. Combining old with the new, she maintains the roots of traditional oil painting while depicting the odd and bizarre.
